Ursina, Jen and Holly were wonderful facilitators. Our staff and board are rarely all together and there were some very big personalities to wrangle through the process. The facilitators handled our large group deftly and truly helped us to focus and put plans in place that will help our organization moving forward.
I really dig working with CCP. I think that changes that would make the process more effective have largely to do with timing which was dictated by me. Doing a big picture leadership training like we did, would have greater effect when we're on boarding new volunteer staff. Additionally, we were in the process of hiring a bunch of people so implementing new processes laid out by CCP has been slow do to the natural curve of integrating new paid staff. The ED consulting component of me working with Kerri Nelson has been amazing and so helpful to the way we work at RCR. I think the specific management training I needed in order to efficiently integrate new employees and positions has overshadowed the team building aspects worked on by the greater consulting team. However, we are now really starting to implement some of the team strategies and are very appreciative of the sage advice and hard work of the CCP team!
I cannot speak more highly of Jon and Wes. They worked with our (certainly unique!) organizational culture to help us establish more forward momentum than we've had in years. They helped reframe our position, and even our initial problem statement, in incredibly helpful ways, and they helped us find energy even when we were not the most cooperative group. I am grateful for the opportunity we had to work with the Community Consulting Project, and grateful that such an opportunity exists for other organizations in the same boat we've been in. Thank you!
We gained a number of valuable insights from working with our CCP team, and made significant progress toward critical organizational goals that had been stalled for some time. There are unique challenges to working with such small nonprofits with very limited resources the way that CCP does, and our team understood how to bring out the best from what we do have. I especially appreciated their overall encouragement and support for our work, leaving us with greater confidence moving forward.
As a wholly inexperienced board president, thrown into leadership of a desperately struggling organization I can't even begin to express how valuable Jon's work with us, and me, actually was.
He gently helped us address personal fears that allowed the opportunity for sharing, shifting leadership of the organization to the board from our burned-out founder/ED.
We also managed to build a strategic plan that we each own and can easily refer back to as we are moving thru our day-to-day and our organization restructuring. And all of this seemed to have happened almost like magic!
I understand that it wasn't magic, it was experience, collaboration and planning. Nevertheless Jon will enjoy the status of Wizard in my heart.
And of course we loved Irene. What a delight.
Thank you for all you do at CCP. I'm certain you are making a major contribution to the world thru your work.

Adoption Mosaic has been so incredibly fortunate to be working with the CC P team. Jon and Irene were professional, informative and personal in all of their interactions with our team at adoption mosaic. We can't thank you all enough for this opportunity.
Thelma's Place would like to give a huge thank you to our wonderful coach Joann Gadbaw! Not only did Joann give us the tools to move our non profit in a direction that we have been wanting to achieve for a long time, she did it with such enthusiasm and love and understanding that it was like she knew us for years!! We are truly thankful for the time and efforts she and Erin brought to us. We would recommend your services to any one needing them! From all of us at Thelma's Place, Thank you with the skills you brought to us, we are moving onward and upward!
We had a wonderful experience. The project scope was ambitious and accordingly it was too big to address in the allotted time. The final product and presentation to relay the recommendations were excellent. I appreciate that the recommendations ranged from very simple and easily achievable to more long-term and resource-intensive. I was not a member of our internal project team, but I very much enjoyed the several times I interacted with the CCP consultants.
PACSAC is incredibly grateful for the consulting support this program offered us. The work of our OODN team enabled us to create a vision and clear next steps to move toward a more productive organization. We are excited by the new possibilities that this clarity will provide for us.
I was the staff person who worked directly with Rob and Jeff. They always responded to my calls and emails very promptly and even met with me in my neighborhood which I'm pretty sure is out of Rob's way. They provided me with many tools and resources to build on the work we did during our meetings, and their support through the process has been amazing.

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with the CCP team. They made the staff feel heard and were able to synthesize our thoughts and feelings into a cohesive presentation for the staff and management. They were able to bring issues to light in a way that hadn't been done before and leave the staff and management in a position to actually work through them. Thank you so much!
The CCP team was exceptional. Their analyses and interventions helped steer us to a much improved and appropriate management paradigm. Their ability to listen to a variety of perspectives and interpret the salient factors into useful action items helped us immensely. They shared excellent understanding of obstacles that were tough for us to identify. They offered ideas that were simply pivotal. It set us on a new course that will benefit the entire organization's infrastructure.
Our consulting team was outstanding! They did an excellent job of listening to the issues, getting input from the entire team, evaluating the situation and recommending processes to help us move forward as an organization. I would highly recommend CCP to any nonprofit facing difficult issues.
We worked with Julie. She was very professional and engaged with our project. We have learned a lot and are encouraged with the outcome. Thank you for your support of organizations like ours. We are a non-profit with an all volunteer board. This process has helped us focus on our long term opportunities and strategies for realizing them.
We worked with a CCP team on board development. I was incredibly impressed at how the team was quickly able to isolate the issues we were having and create a plan with concrete steps to address these issues. We have emerged from this project with an invigorated and empowered board!
This engagement with CCP was truly pivotal for us. The team was very responsive, professional and able to quickly get the trust of all staff. They were able frame the key issues during their assessment and help us have some "courageous conversations" VERY important work. Our gratitude and thanks always!
The ability for a small non-profit organization to be able to have all members fully able to participate in team planning and issue resolution is difficult to arrange. CCP provides the leadership to moderate these discussions so all members can contribute. This is such an invaluable gift to the work team and can have far reaching impact on the future of the organization. In our case, the support refreshed the team and gave momentum to push forward rather than to languish or even disband.
The Executive Committee of Earth & Spirit had a great screening interview with our CCP Consultant yesterday. . . . We have chosen to withdraw our CCP application from consideration at the September retreat. While we are not going forward with a formal organizational development project, the process of applying and being interviewed has definitely sharpened our thinking (and feeling) about our next steps as an organization. That, in itself, is a value added by the Community Consulting Project.
The CCP was one of the best things that happened to the Junior League of Portland in years. We had completely stagnated with our Strategic Plan and our entire annual planning process. We felt like we were still making progress because we would continuously update the current planning documents. However, after meeting with the CCP Team and they completed their full analysis of our organization - they easily identified key areas of focus to improve the organization. Julie Endress then laid out the path breaking down the pieces into manageable bites. She led us through several consensus workshops to align the entire board with the process. These left everyone engerized and ready to move forward with the changes. I have never been through a process of such dramatic change in such a short period of time with so little turmoil! The entire board is bought in on the new Strategic Plan that we developed and we are moving forward with a new planning process.
The results of our work with CCP increased interactions among board members, increased awareness of the board's individual and collective responsibilities, and increased the investment, individually and collectively, in the actions and activities of the organization. We identified our key areas of focus for our strategic planning, developed a new process for selecting and orienting new board members, surveyed board members to gather data regarding the organization mission, definition, scope and growth scenario identification, and defined new board member roles and responsibilities. Please convey our thanks to all who were involved in selecting us for this powerful project!
Julie and Galen were excellent guides throughout the entire process, and were adept at synthesizing a mountain of information and opinions into a plan that is both accessible and achievable.
In my previous professional life, I often worked with consultants. I thought the CCP was far and away the best group of consultants that I have ever worked with. They listened and were flexible working with a diverse group of clients (artists and non-artists). Thank you.
Keep up the great work. What a fantastic service this was. I don't know how we would have been able to accomplish our strategic planning otherwise. It's just so expensive to hire a consultant to advise and facilitate a strategic planning process for small organizations and there's not a lot of funding out there for this. I am so pleased that we learned about ODN and the CCP. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Our experience with CCP was a lifesaver for our organization. We are very young and inexperienced. [Our CCP Team] provided us with a variety of training and learning opportunities. Thank you so much!
Working with the CCP was an unbelievable opportunity for our organization. We are a small, grass roots non-profit and we wouldn't have been able to afford such expertise and extended support.
After significant initial success as an advocacy coalition, our 10-year-old organization faced a crisis in future direction. We were fortunate to be selected as one of CCP's first clients. CCP consultants helped us identify core issues, plan a board retreat, and then ably facilitated a highly successful meeting where we addressed issues critical to organizational growth and development. Their support allowed us to get the basics under control so we could move ahead as an organization.
I just want to send a big thank you to you and your associates for your help with our retreat. I think that it was an easier and more productive exercise for us with your expertise and guidance. We really appreciate your help, and we look forward to following up with you as we move forward. Thank you.
We have gone through a two-year process to complete the national Alliance of Information & Referral Systems Accreditation. We passed.
Thank you, Community Consulting Project! They loved the [measurement] dashboard, and they were very impressed with the new report I'm using based on the goals we defined. Thanks again for your incredible support -- please join the staff in feeling incredibly proud.
