Quit Calling them Webinars and a Dozen other Biz Model Strategies with Roger Courville – May 19, 2020

May 5, 2020 by ODN Oregon

Webinars, webcasts, virtual presentations. Whatever you call them, speakers have a big problem: Prospective buyers are as (or more!) confused about how to buy your virtual services as you are in selling them.

Here’s the good news: It’s not only possible to make money with webinars, you’re going to learn from the world’s first-ever speaker to make a million dollars doing it.

Attend this session to learn:

  • The unspoken objection you will ALWAYS face and how to overcome it
  • 2 things that must change in your contracts (if you want more money, that is)
  • The single greatest key to messaging that will differentiate your offer
  • 3 ways to make more revenue per client
  • The difference between webinars, webcasts, virtual classrooms, and hybrid events
  • When you should – and shouldn’t – consider virtual presentations for client engagements

About Roger
Roger Courville, CSP has been called “The Michael Jordan of Virtual Presentations.” He’s an award-winning speaker and author who brings evidence-based tactics to transforming boring webinars. His work includes working with organizations as diverse as FedEx, Australia Institute of Training and Development, American Management Association, US Bank and, of course, ODN. And he loves habaneros.

Using a fast-moving, highly visual format, we will take a look at a few theories of change, including Gestalt, appreciative inquiry, human systems dynamics, and Bridges transitions.

Come ready to learn and share about how these models impact our choices in life and professional practice. What are some positive and unexpected results of each particular lens?

And, we'd like to thank our facilitators for sharing their time and expertise:

  • Sabine Amend
  • Tim Eannarino

Mind Share – April 16, 2020

March 26, 2020 by ODN Oregon

Our monthly Mastermind meeting has been going on since last spring and has become a rich environment for sharing professional experiences and challenges. Due to Covid-19, instead of in-person, our meeting on March 19 was done via Zoom and went very well.

With our new normal, for the foreseeable future, these meetings will now be held online. They'll be called "Mind Share" not "Mastermind." No pre-existing expertise required - come and share your mind! We'll meet twice a month.

At our April 2 meeting, we shared some insights from our own experiences with ZOOM as a platform and then Roger Courville shared with us a crucial process for translating things we do in face-to-face meetings into on-line format. He emphasized making sure you choose the appropriate on-line platform to accomplish your desired outcomes, rather than becoming wedded to one platform. Twenty-two people attended.

NOTE: An C@W_Online-Collaboration-Tools_4-2020 is available in PDF format to those who registered for the April 2 Mind Share. Compiled by Community At Work, a facilitation training and consulting group in San Francisco, it organizes a large group of on-line tools into categories by type of process needed, and annotates each with what it does well and what it costs.

At our next meeting on April 16, we will have our check-in (perhaps using Roger’s Analyze/Map/Discover approach—anyone volunteer want to try this translation to our ZOOM platform?) and an open forum discussion of a thread or two emerging from the check in.

Date:  Thursday, April 16, 2020
Time:  4 - 5:30 pm
Location:  Virtual via Zoom. Please sign in early to make sure your audio and video equipment are ready to go. There is no technical support for virtual meetings.
Cost:  Free to all.
Register:  Click here to register on Zoom. If you register early, you may need to re-register the day of the event. Space limited to 100.
