The Practical Science of Resilience and Adaptability
In this ninety-minute, fast-paced, interactive webinar, Bill Hefferman will share neuroscience-based principles and practices for bouncing back from and growing stronger through life’s ongoing adversity and uncertainty.
- Describe what resilience is, its neuroscientific basis, and why it is important to our own performance and well-being.
- Define the resilience mindset and how it works in shaping our expectations, explanations, motivations, and behavior when facing change and challenge.
- Apply the “7Cs” reframing questions for changing our mindset on-the fly to be and do our best in the face of challenge.
- Practice several evidence-based micro-resilience tools for regaining full connected functioning when caught in the natural fight-flight-freeze states of the autonomic nervous system.
- Respond to others’ distress in a way that supports their returning to perceptions of safety and connection.
- Identify best strategies for fostering resilience within teams.
- Establish daily habits for sustaining resilience development and growth.

For 20+ years, Bill Hefferman has delivered highly-rated workshops and talks on science-based principles and practices for thriving through change, adversity, and uncertainty. He pulls from a variety of disciplines including neuroscience, transformation leadership, change management, positive psychology, and mindfulness. With over three decades in organization development and change leadership, Bill has led initiatives across a range of companies, countries, and cultures.
