MindShare – June 17, 2021

UpcomingMindShare – June 17, 2021
  • MindShare
    June 17, 2021
    4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Our twice-monthly MindShare meetings provide participants a rich environment for sharing professional experiences and challenges. This gathering of seasoned consultants and seekers, internal and external helpers and managers forms the core of how we support each other in building our community of practice across change disciplines and career situations.

People trade ideas and learnings with each other as we focus on the challenges individuals bring to the table. Coaching, mentoring, introducing different perspectives and reframes, all play their role in making these gatherings exciting and beneficial to all who come.

Hearing each other’s stories and different voices energizes us and builds relationships that extend beyond the “room.” Please join us on the first and third Thursdays of each month. All are welcome!

Special Focus for June, July and August (third Thursday)

The Key to Creating Sustainable DEI Impact: Anti-Oppressive Human Resources Design
Rashmi Dixit and Kate Dixon | RaKa Rising

Corporations have pledged over $35 billion toward racial equity and inclusion in the past year (source: Wall Street Journal, 12/21/2020), and yet some of the same organizations pledging resources have since been blamed for discriminatory practices (source: Forbes, 2/23/2021). Why the disconnect between intent and impact? And how can organizations make lasting — and non-performative — change?

We believe Anti-Oppressive Human Resources Design is a key element to holistic and sustainable change.

Are you curious about what Anti-Oppressive HR might look like and how to bring Anti-Oppressive HR design and practices into your organization? Please join Rashmi Dixit and Kate Dixon for a three-part conversation. We’ll discuss:

Session 1 – June 17, 2021: How did we get here?

First, we’ll share stories and experiences of historical and current HR practices, look at what we value, and understand the underlying systems that contribute to and enable oppressive impacts.

Session 2 – July 15, 2021: What is possible with anti-oppressive HR?

In our second session, we’ll imagine the potential for organizations adopting anti-oppressive HR design, and discuss and challenge limitations.

Session 3 – August 19, 2021: How can we take action?

In our final session, we’ll share frameworks for anti-oppressive HR design, and step into meaningful dialogue and sustainable action.

Join us for any or all of these sessions!
