CRACKING the CODE of ORGANIZATION CULTURE
Jerry Zygmuntowicz and Rob Dodson
Overview
People’s work in organizations is impacted by more than their job title, boss, and industry. The culture of their organization is another major influence that is always at work, even if not clearly seen or understood. Culture is invisible and amorphous; and embedded in the assumptions, values, norms and behaviors of the organization. Unraveling the mysteries of organizational culture provides leverage in areas including: developing a highly engaged workforce, aligning with business strategy; increasing capacity through mergers, and effectively leading change.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore some ways change agents can decode and work with an organization's culture so that it better aligns with stated values, strategies, and goals. We will provide an overview of culture and its basic components and explore working models used in culture analysis and change. Finally, participants will have an opportunity to apply these tools in an interactive case study.
Workshop facilitators Jerry Zygmuntowicz and Rob Dodson bring a rich portfolio of real world OD experience to bear on this subject. Their facilitation will include lessons learned in the field about when culture change works and when it doesn’t.
