Overview
What are we learning from living systems science in terms of understanding human social systems and how they operate? Today we still find the predominant model for OD practitioners to be a mechanistic one, reflected in language such as "change management”, "driving change" and "process re-engineering". By studying the biological and social network sciences, we can find a better fit for understanding and working with human organizations.
This program will examine some highlights of the work of Dr. Humberto Maturana, leading thinker and researcher in living systems theory. Our conversation will focus on how to make this relevant to your organization development work. This presentation and dialogue will assist you to reflect on, and perhaps reconsider, some of your assumptions and approaches to OD. Come join us for an interactive, thought-provoking and lively evening.
