Thinking in Threes:
How Understanding Relationship Triangle Can Help You and Your Clients Do More While Trying Less

September 8, 2004
Margaret Marcuson

Overview

This presentation will show how most relationships have a third component, sometimes hidden, which can block effective change in organizations and often stress the leaders and change agents. Clarifying these “triangles” can help you and your clients be more effective in the systems where you work.

Outline of Presentation

I. Introduction to the idea of triangles
II. Basic rules about how triangles work
III. Implications for organizational life (and for consulting to organizations)
--triangles with issues, not just people
--leadership triangles
--interlocking triangles and multigenerational triangles
--our own family triangles

This will all include stories and plenty of interactive time.
