Communities of practice are the key to developing an organization's learning capacity and OD practitioners have unique skills to offer in their development. But communities also present a unique set of challenges for OD practitioners. This presentation talks about what communities are, the role they play in organizations' knowledge and learning strategies, and what is involved in their development. It includes five challenges that face OD practitioners who seek to contribute to their organizations in this area.
